Asia’s Best Toilets
November 8th, 2007 by Sean
Okay – quick side note. We had heard rumors that Cambodia’ has Asia’a best toilets. Now I have seen one of Seoul’s best (winner of Seoul’s Best Toilet 2004 award – see our post form March 2007) so I surely have basis for comparison. I have to admit, but should clarify, the toilets within the park system (at each site) were by far the best in Asia. Though technically true that the best are in Cambodia.. it should be further clarified that the temple park complex has the best.. but the toilets in the rest of the country – they are terrible.
So here are some pics along the lovely boardwalk leading over the flowery marsh to “washroom paradise- island”

These are free for anyone with park passes. An array of affordable refreshments were available as well as some souvenirs.. but without the heavy soliciting found anywhere beyond the safe confines of the washroom grounds. They even have some very important and clear instructions to first time toilet users.
Except for the blinding heat which caused my ass to slide effortlessly, and quite annoyingly, from side to side on the seat, it was one of the best experiences of relieving myself I have ever had.

Seoul Best Toilet 2004 will always hold a special place in my heart.
[pssst... helpful lowbrow hint guy says: to enhance the experience and avoid ass slippage next time, line the seat with toilet paper. Although wasteful, this will bring peace of mind knowing there is a slight barrier between your ass and other people's germs].
Unfortunately yes… there was a bit of a run in with a not so happy washroom attendant. I think she thought I was trying to do an expose.
Migs, you toilet tips will no doubt keep me from injuring myself (as I’m prone to) or picking up a nasty bug whilst abroad on the continent of the shady thrones…
