Our flight – 21 Hours of Daylight
December 11th, 2006 by Sean
Although Erin has had many trans-Atlantic & Pacific flight this was my first time on a plane for longer than 5 hours. After a brief stop in San Fransisco we had 14 hours to Korea. We almost paid the $200 US to upgrade to an emergency exit in fear I wouldn’t have enough leg room. I forgot that my last 3 flights were aboard air transit and was pleasantly surprised that United provided ample legroom. Our flight form San Fran left at noon and we landed in Korea at 6pm local time. This meant we followed the mid-day sun for about 13 hours. I think this helped reduce the jet lag somewhat. We didn’t get our work visas on time so we were asked by our school to lie and say we were just there to do some sight seeing. This means the school must send us to Japan for 4 days to get the work visas. This is a free trip and we leave December 16th and not only is the trip paid for but we get 2 days off work!
